Assistant Performance Coach Position
City of Lincoln Pentaqua Swimming Club has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Squad Coach to join a growing team as Assistant Performance Coach, to help deliver our programme. The ideal candidate will be positive and committed to motivating swimmers to reach their potential.
CLP is one of the top swimming clubs in Lincolnshire. We have teachers and coaches across Lincoln delivering a large program for ages 4 and above, this includes our Learn to Swim Academy, Competitive Squad training and a large Master’s section.
Our team have produced fantastic results because they inspire our members to realise their potential and to go for it! We have swimmers who compete at the highest level at County, Regional, National and International Competitions.
Job Description
Definition: A focus on the further development of young swimmers already identified as having potential. Together with developing a Pre-Competition Squad for ages 7-11years.
Job Title: CLP Assistant Performance Coach
Reporting: Reports to Head Coach.
Status: Member of the CLP Coaching team.
Key Responsibilities:

Contributes to the development of the squad training plan

Adapts squad plan to ‘fit’ their assigned group of swimmers

Delivers the plan to the group via coaching
-
Keeps records and registers
-
Helps implement agreed competition plan
-
Assists with team selection
-
Attends all relevant meets/galas
-
Reports on meets
-
Attendance at Coaches meetings
-
Work as part of the Squad teaching team
Key Skills:

Good technical swimming skills knowledge

Ability to motivate and encourage

Passionate and enthusiastic for the sport

Patient and calm
-
Clear and concise verbal communication skills

Child Protection and Safeguarding

Confident communicating via telephone and email to reporting lines, members and their families.

Able to work without supervision

Must be sufficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word

Experience of the workings of Swim England
-
Flexible

Good time management and organisation skills
Qualification and Experience:
-
A minimum of 1 year of coaching as the holder of a Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 2 Coaching Award or as the holder of an Assistant Swimming Coach Certificate working towards the Swimming Coach Certificate.

Swim England - Safeguarding Course

Teacher Rescue / Lifesaving qualification

Enhanced DBS and Right to Work in the UK is required for this role.
Work Commitment:

This is a Self-Employed role
-
Committed to attend and lead the following sessions:
-
Sunday: 14:00 -15:15 at Lincoln Christ Hospital School Pool

Sunday: 15:15 -16:30 at Lincoln Christ Hospital Scholl Pool

To attend relevant swim meets – where expenses only will be paid
Additional unpaid coaching hours are also available; this is to help build the club to allow it to increase the number of paid hours available for an Assistant Performance Coach. Please ask for further details on application. Please note that most roles within the club are held by volunteers.
This job can also be done as a Job Share, should two suitable candidates be identified who wanted to share the hours.
Swim Academy
The club is also looking to expand its Swim Academy so will be recruiting a second Self-Employed Swim Academy manager together with paid swimming teachers; we would be happy to combine roles should the interested party have the relevant teaching qualifications and experience.
Salary: Performance Coach £15 p/h
