The squad member is expected to attend 4 swim sessions and 3 land training session each week and will have access to other sessions which can be attended with the Head Coach's agreement. Further band and flexibility work will also be required as part of the pre and post pool sessions.

For swimmers new to the club, we will arrange a trial for the swimmer based on their previous swimming background.

The programme will continue developing key skills for competitive swimming which include:

  • Underwater Fish Kick

Work will also be done to increase their fitness levels in the pool and land work will be required to help with flexibility, core body and shoulder strength which is designed to protect them from injury and help develop power.

This programme requires them to do land training including weights based strength training session for details of this please see the land training page.

Swimmers in the programme are expected to compete at Club and Open swim meets. They will also need to be willing to be part of a team if selected, which will take part in events such as the Lincs and Arena League.

All swimmers will be working toward achieving, Regional and National Qualifying times for their age group.
